 Breast Cancer

Mammograms for Survivors

I have had a mastectomy, but the cancer has been in remission for 2 years. Should I get a mammogram on the other breast?

Absolutely. Because you are at higher risk for developing cancer in your remaining breast, it is very important that you continue to diligently check your breast each month and get an annual mammogram.

Equally important is maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Diet, exercise, nurturing relationships, and a balanced approach to life’s ups and downs can go a long way to protecting your body from reccurrence.
