Comfort of External Radiation Therapy

Does the procedure for external radiation therapy hurt?

No. The procedure for external radiation therapy is similar to having an x-ray. You won’t feel any immediate discomfort. However, if at any time during the procedure you feel ill or uneasy, tell your radiation oncologist, and he or she can stop the procedure and make any adjustments if necessary.
